Student Academic Leaders are academically successful Behrend students who assist residents in our first year halls with their transition into college. Primarily their focus is the academic success of the students, however the SALs also recognize that there are many areas of an individual that feeds into their academic performance. Your SAL will hold various events for you throughout the semester. These events will focus on the four pillars of the SPARC Program: Community, Service, Awareness, and Academics. Your SAL may not live in your hall directly, but he/she will be available to you through one-on-one appointments, during their building office hours, and at events they are holding. Your SAL is an invaluable resource that will assist you by pointing you in the right direction for campus resources, helping you get to know other students on campus, and by serving as a peer mentor.
