2006
"A living legacy of blossoming trees."
Several years ago during the highway expansion Penn State Erie, the Behrend College lost the beautiful blossoming trees that lined the entrance to the campus. The goal of the 2006 Senior Class is to be a part of renewing the beauty of the campus by replacing those lost trees. Each tree will cost approximately $ 400.00 and will provide a fall of pink petals in the spring, cooling shade in the summer, warm colors in the fall and a resting place for snowflakes in the winter. Every single tree on the Behrend campus is a treasure and can be appreciated by all who visit.

The value of trees is endless. They clean the air by reducing air pollutants, they reduce soil erosion, their shade can help to extend the life of paved surfaces, and their aesthetic value can be calming to traffic and weary souls.
