Mobile
computing ports are available in the Lilley Library, Hammermill 139, and Nick 156. These
ports allow Penn State faculty, staff, and students to
connect a laptop computer to the campus' Ethernet
backbone. The ports are located at the following
sites within the Lilley Library:
-
Study Rooms (ground floor) - There
are 2
mobility ports in rooms 13 to 15 and rooms 21 to 23.
Study rooms 10 and 16 each have one port.
-
Study Carrels (first and second
floors) - Each carrel has 1
mobility port.
A map of the mobile computing port
locations is available on-line
and from the Library's circulation desk or the Computer
Center's help desks (in H135 and in the Library). Ports in the H139 and N156 computer labs are clearly marked.
To use these ports, your laptop computer must be
equipped with an Ethernet card and a cable adapter.
A guide to configuring your laptop is available
on-line and from the
Library's circulation desk or the Computer Center's help
desks (in H135 and in the Library).
If you have a question concerning mobile computing,
contact one of the consultant help desks (at ext. 6415 in Hammermill or ext. 6083 in the Library lab or via email at
bditHELP@psu.edu).
In addition, there are mobile
computing ports located in the technology
classrooms that faculty may use for instruction. Each
technology classroom has a VGA port for projecting the
laptop screen. Contact the Media and Instructional Support
Center at extension 6121 if you need information or
assistance with connecting your laptop in the technology
classroom.
