Behrend Track & Field Teams Continue Successful Outdoor Seasons
The men's team was led by Ronson
Mazany (Ashville,
NY/Panama Central) who finished first in the triple
jump with a distance of 13.39m and second in the long jump with a leap of
6.78m. Denny Kang (South
Park/South Park) placed second in the men’s pole vault
as he cleared a height of 4.11m. Earl Bass (Niagara
Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) had a strong performance in
the 110m hurdles placing second with a time of 15.80 seconds. On the women’s side sophomore Virginia Rodgers-Owens (Washington, DC/P.L. Dunbar) took home another impressive first place in the 100m dash with an outstanding time of 12.86 seconds in the finals. In distance running, Mallory Solueret (Pittsburgh/Baldwin) tied for second in the 5000 meter run with an impressive time of 19:18.72. The men and women will be competing again this upcoming Saturday, April 12 as they head to Slippery Rock for an Invitational that will be starting at 10:00 a.m.
