For free Adobe Acrobat Reader click: FALL 2008 Final Exam Information A limited number of paper copies of the fall final examination schedule will be available in the College Registrar's office, 12 Erie Hall, and at the information desk in the Reed Union Building. The most up-to-date information regarding final exams will be found online. The final exam period will begin on Monday, December 15, and will end on Friday, December 19. Students and faculty should not make plans to leave campus until after they review the final exam schedule. Final exams must be taken as scheduled except for direct or overload conflict situations. Final examinations fulfill two important academic objectives: student integration of instructional material and end-of-semester evaluation of student achievement. However, valid means other than the final examination also accomplish these objectives (e.g., term paper, final project report, take-home examination, etc.). There are two types of conflict exams, direct and overload. A direct conflict occurs when two exams are scheduled at the same time. Students with a direct conflict must file for a conflict exam. Overload exams are three or more exams scheduled within one calendar day or three consecutive exams. Students may elect to take the overload if they wish. Students wishing to file for a conflict exam must do so electronically by using the Final Exam Conflict form available in mid-September. Students will be able to file for a fall 2008 conflict examination until Sunday, October 19, 2008. The Penn State Behrend's Registrar's Office will resolve conflicts filed by October 19, and notify students of resolutions. After the October 19 deadline, students must resolve conflicts with their instructors. Evening

In the case of a conflict between the evening examination and other
scheduled University activities, or in the case of more than one evening
examination per day, each student is permitted to make up the examination
without penalty. |
