Student Research Assistance Program (RAP)

Behrend College students may schedule an appointment (from 15 minutes to 1 hour) with a librarian for in-depth assistance in finding relevant information for research papers and projects.  Research consultation may include instruction on how to use the University Libraries' online catalog (The CAT), and online resources.

What RAP is:
RAP gives the student the chance to meet one-on-one with a librarian to discuss in-depth research needs and learn skills and strategies to help you have information resources for your research project.

What it’s not:
The librarian will not do your assignment for you. The librarian will not send you a packet of search results in the mail.

Appointments will generally be made during the hours of 8:00a.m.-5:00p.m., Monday-Friday, though special arrangements for other times may be made by mutual agreement.  Please fill out the form below.  RAP appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance and 72 hours before your assignment is due.

A librarian will contact you to discuss the appointment.  The RAP appointment is not set until a librarian confirms the time by calling or sending you an email.

Questions about the program can be directed to Jane Ingold at 898-7278, email: jli4@psu.edu.

Groups that are working on a single subject are welcome to meet with a librarian as a group.  If a group has a similar, or same assignment, but different topics, each member should schedule an individual research appointment.  If you are not sure if your group needs to meet as individuals, ask a librarian.

Please fill out the form as completely as possible (* denotes required fields).
