Psychology Curriculum

Both the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology require a minimum of 124 credits. Students must earn a grade of C or better in every 300- and 400-level course in the major field.

An 18-credit Psychology minor is available to students in any major, and it is a valuable addition if one's career will involve interaction with other people. The minor is popular with business and science majors and also with technology-oriented majors in engineering and computing because an understanding of human factors is important in the development of new technologies.

The Bachelor of Arts degree requires additional credits in the arts, humanities, and social sciences, and proficiency in a second language.

The Bachelor of Science program offers two options.

The General Option is intended for students with a strong interest in science and requires more coursework in the biological, physical, and mathematical sciences than does the Bachelor of Arts program.

The Business Option is designed for students who wish to combine their interest in psychology with business courses. This option offers the flexibility to either earn a formal minor in a business area such as Management, Marketing, or Management Information Systems, or students can take a mix of business courses that meet career needs.
